As your therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief counseling to parenting support, addictions, and beyond. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client's individual needs to help attain the personal growth in which they’re striving.
Additionally, I am EMDR trained and certified (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This is a highly effective method of brain stimulation therapy which allows me to assist clients in processing any level of trauma. It is also a method of working on negative thought cognition. EMDR works for every trauma from PTSD, grief and loss, anxiety, and more. I will continue traditional therapy, but will incoporate EMDR when appropriate.
For those of you planning a wedding, you can come see me for your premarital counseling. Premarital counseling is not therapy, but an opportunity to help prepare you for a marriage.
On a personal note, it is exciting to be following what I believe is God’s plan for me to be a therapist. I think I was a therapist long before it became my profession, with my first clients being friends and family. Now that I am working in the field, I am blessed to see my personal and professional experiences come together to help benefit others.
My husband and I have been married for over thirty years. We have two married sons and four grandchildren, including a set of grandtwins. I thoroughly enjoy my family and am thrilled when we can all be together. Laughing out loud with them and with my friends is a favorite thing to do. Fortunately, I have that opportunity frequently whether it be over dinner, a cup of coffee, or even a leisurely bike ride.
You are more than welcome to schedule a fifteen minute meet and greet. This is offered at no charge and gives you the opportunity to meet me, see the office and its surroundings, and ask any questions you might have.
I look forward to helping you find peace in your life.
Warm regards,
DeAnne
